Bellowhead are a dynamic 11-piece musical collective combining traditional skills with contemporary electric percussion and funky brass. Recent winners of both ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Live Act’ in the 2007 BBC Radio 2 UK Folk Awards, the group continue to push the boundaries of English traditional roots music with a new Wales-wide tour for Spring 2008.

The brainchild of the acclaimed and award-winning folk duo Jon Boden and John Spiers, Bellowhead have compounded their recent successes with the release of their long awaited 13 track album ‘Burlesque’, with material inspired by a broad array of sources including the Napoleonic Wars, the American minstrel movement, sea-shanties from Brazil, and the spirit of the East Anglian step dance tradition.

Legendary for their musically thrilling live performances, Bellowhead have appeared alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keane and Thom Yorke on the BBC TV show Later... with Jools Holland, winning praise from Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis. Bellowhead have also stormed the UK festival scene, playing The Big Chill, Larmer Tree, TFF Rudolstadt, Roskilde Festival, Summer Sundae, Beautiful Days, Cambridge Folk Festival and Womad UK. Don’t miss this chance to catch one of the UK’s most innovative live bands whose fans unite across generations and genres. An unmissable date for 2008!
