Pierre-Auguste Renoir is one of the world’s favourite artists, a founding member of the Impressionist movement and a constantly evolving artist. With exclusive access to the National Gallery’s new exciting show of the same name (3 October 2026 – 31 January 2027), Exhibition on Screen will bring Renoir’s world class works to cinema audiences. Be transported back to a Parisian summer of love through the eyes of a true visionary. An unmissable opportunity to fall in love with Renoir this winter.

Broadcast Event FAQs
These are events which are filmed in front of a live audience, but optimised for the big screen so it’s the next best thing to being there.
The performers on stage deliver their performances as they normally would any other night. But to make sure audiences watching in cinemas have the best seat in the house, the camera positions are tailored to capture each production and work closely with technical teams to make sure every element on stage such as lighting, hair and make-up look fantastic on the big screen.
No. Some events are broadcast live as they happen in real time, some are recorded as they happen and then screened again after the event, usually during a short theatrical window.
BBFC 'As Live' age ratings are temporary age ratings for content other than conventional films (e.g. stage or sporting events) projected in cinemas. 'As Live' ratings are based on information provided by the distributor, without the content being viewed by the BBFC prior to exhibition. They are valid for seven days after the live event.
As Live events are not live transmissions, as these sit outside the scope of UK licensing laws. Only delayed exhibition of a live event requires an As Live rating, even if the delay is only a few minutes.
Please note that As Live classifications are not advisory, they must be adhered to as with normal film certification.
