Trumpeter Tomos Williams brings his band of brilliant musicians to Mwldan for the first time to play the music of jazz legend Miles Davis.
7Steps perform some of the classics associated with the great trumpeter; So What, All Blues, Milestones but also play some of the less well known songs from Miles' vast catalogue such as Joshua, Masqualero and Teo. 2026 is the centenary year of Miles Davis' birth, and 7Steps will perform the music of one of the towering figures of 20th Century music, with passion and vigour.
The quintet, includes stellar Welsh jazz musicians Joe Northwood on tenor sax, pianist Dave Jones,Paula Gardiner on bass and the magnificent Mark O'Connor on drums. Tomos Williams is a leading and unique voice on the Welsh jazz scene. Heavily indebted and influenced by Miles' music ,7Steps is a natural project for Tomos to front. Tomos also leads the jazz/folk sextet, Burum, the groundbreaking Indo-Welsh fusion band 'Khamira', (who have played in South Korea, India and Wales) and his Cwmwl Tystion/Witness project. 7Steps have toured Wales in 2018 and 2023, and their concerts paying homage to Miles Davis and his music are always popular.
Get your tickets early for a night of swinging jazz and burning solos.
  • 'Williams guides the band, and he stalks the stage half-proud father and half-explorer in a new, dangerous, but familiar land. His horn is beautifully controlled, pulling soloists back to the root of the number, springboarding them off
