We're doing our bit
Thanks to a recent Arts Council of Wales / Welsh Government capital funding initiative, our Mwldan 2 stage lighting has been successfully changed over to energy-efficient LED lighting, which is now installed and operational.
We are currently in the process of changing all of our building lighting over to LED sustainable lighting, saving both costs and lowering our environmental impact, and we continue to look at using renewables wherever possible.
We use Natural UK for our Nappy and Feminine Waste so none of this waste goes to landfill - it all gets boiled down and made into Insulation Board or Industrial Spillage Kits!
We have installed water-saving taps in our ladies and gents' toilets.
A Cisternmiser water system is installed in our men's urinals (urinals only flush when the sensors detect movement).
Our heating and ventilation systems are computer-controlled for maximum energy efficiency and comfort control.
All of the waste from rubbish bins we use in-house is hand-sorted by our services team and recycled wherever possible (glass/paper/cardboard/plastic items).
Our used light bulbs are taken to the local recycling plant as well as any broken electronics/machines & scrap wood that needs clearing out.
We've teamed up with West Wales Rivers Trust to participate in the Phosphate Reduction and Mitigation (PRaM) Project, which aims to improve water quality within the River Teifi. As part of this project, we have installed a ‘Rainwater planter’ which takes roof runoff from downpipes, filters through a planter and discharges back into the outfall drain, slowing flows of water and improving water quality.
We make lots of our own decorations for seasonal events, re-using old materials such as brochures and film posters - you may have seen some of our Origami stars at Christmas!
