How to get your work selected

If you are interested in holding an exhibition at Oriel Mwldan, the first stage is to send your details, recent examples of your work (printed/ digital photographs or slides) clearly labelled with your name, the title of the work, date, medium and dimensions with any previous publicity material including catalogues. In terms of projected work please submit a proposal to the gallery with supporting evidence and an example of your prices. Please state any special hanging/ installation/ maintaining requirements in your application.

Oriel Mwldan operates on the principle of a three year programme which includes a balanced range of visual arts by professional, emerging artists and community groups. There is normally a minimum twelve-month lead-time.

Oriel Mwldan will endeavour to reply to all applications and return the applicants property. However Oriel Mwldan accepts no liability for loss or damage to the application.

Agreement

After being selected, Oriel Mwldan will issue an Artist Agreement to the artist or organisation which is to be signed and returned accepting terms and conditions of the gallery.

Installing work

Unless other arrangements have been made, it is the artist(s) who is/ are responsible for transportation of the work to and from the gallery to arrive and be collected at the time and date arranged by Oriel Mwldan.

Please attach a set of labels to the work itself with your name, the title of the work, date, medium and dimensions and price if applicable. All work needs to be safely packaged and also labelled securely on the outside of the packaging upon arrival at the gallery. Two-dimensional work should be submitted with mirror plates in place ready for hanging. Alternatives to this arrangement need to be discussed prior to the exhibition with gallery staff.

Oriel Mwldan will be responsible for the final selection and hanging of exhibitions.

Receptions

Currently our policy is to cover reception costs and the exhibitor(s) to provide their own wine etc.

Publications

Oriel Mwldan wish every exhibition to be a success and would like to advertise the gallery’s programme as far ahead as possible. Oriel Mwldan will produce the exhibition signage, price lists if applicable, the poster design and print copies to advertise the exhibition in accordance with the gallery’s own in-house style and at no cost to the artist(s). Additional requirements need to be discussed.

We will contact the exhibitor well in advance so that we receive the information needed to publicise the show and gain the maximum number of attendees. An Exchange of Information sheet will be issued with deadlines for the following information:

• To confirm the title of the exhibition
• Press Release
• Text for the theatre’s brochure
• Colour images of the work to be used for the poster design

To help us produce exhibition signage and pricelist for the opening of the exhibition, we ask that the exhibitor(s) submit the following details in advance:

• title of the work, date, medium, dimensions
• price if applicable
