Artist's Statement

My work is based on reflections and observations on the marks ingrained in the memory and landscape.

This new body of work is a series of ongoing drawings, experiments and evolving processes contemplating the weight of these marks.

The work is not always drawn or brushed on, but built in many layers of line, colour, mixed media and collaged fragments of drawings; worked and reworked into the piece. My aim is to give the work a weight, a sculptural physicality that speaks of its own transformations and associations; bearing the imprint of its own history.
