Parking
The main public car park to the rear of Theatr Mwldan has
five designated disabled parking spaces and level access to
the theatre building. The car park is pay and display before
6pm.
Entry into the building
Front Doors
Theatr Mwldan’s main entrance has automatic double doors
which open out to you as you approach. Once inside the building,
a wide and graded ramp on the left hand side takes you to
the main foyer level where you will find Caffi Mwldan, the
Box Office, Bar, Mwldan 1 (theatre/cinema), Toilets and a
Lift to the Upper Foyer and 1st Floor. The surface is slip-resistant
with handrails.
Car Park/ Rear Entrance
The rear entrance from the public car park has a single automatic
door which opens out to you. Once inside the building, a graded
ramp takes you to the main foyer and the facilities described
above. The surface is slip-resistant.
Accessible Toilets
There is one accessible toilet on each level of the building.
They are fitted with a pull string alarm if help is needed.
As soon as the alarm is sounded a member of staff will be
available to help.
Reception areas and lobbies
Once in the building and at the Box Office you will see tables
and chairs for the café customers and booth style seating
opposite for use as a waiting area.
The flooring in this area is slate.
Please note that Theatr Mwldan does not have a wheelchair
for hire at the present moment.
Lift
There is a lift in the foyer for people with disabilities
and wheelchair users which enables access between the Lower
Foyer, Upper Foyer and 1st Floor. This allows access to Mwldan
2 (theatre auditorium), Mwldan 3 (studio) and the visual arts
gallery Oriel Mwldan. The lift has raised buttons.
Corridors
All the corridors in Theatr Mwldan are accessible by wheelchair,
wide enough for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre and for other
people to pass. They are free from obstructions to wheelchair
users and from hazards to people with impaired sight. There
is a medium-dark purple coloured carpet from the Upper Foyer
level upwards.
The lighting throughout the building is a mixture of natural
and artificial light and is designed so as to avoid glare
and silhouettes.
Theatres
Both out theatre spaces – Mwldan 1 and Mwldan 2 –
are equipped with infra-red hearing loops and headsets are
available free of charge from our Box Office for every performance.
Designated wheelchair spaces are available for all performances
and these can be pre-booked via our Box Office. The wheelchair
spaces are integrated into our seating layout so that a wheelchair
user can sit with their family and friends. Please look for
the symbol on the seating
plans
